If you wish to personally help the cause of Nexus: The Jupiter Incident 2, be sure to sign the following petition to help the game come out! The more signatures, the better a chance it will be developed! www.petitiononline.com Furthermore, Nexus: The Jupiter Incident has been released on Steam for paid download! Show your love and make sure others who weren’t able to get the game in a box know of this new way to experience one of the best space combat games in recent years. Who knows, enough sales just may tip the scales in favour of a sequel. Want proof of this piece of news? Go here: www.steampowered.com -NOTE- Anyone who wants a highres version of this video, go here to the following link: files.filefront.com This was the tech demo for the proposed sequel to Mithis Entertainment’s AWESOME space combat game, Nexus: The Jupiter Incident. A few of the goodies you’ll see here are planet surfaces so real you could touch them, giant spaceships, fighters doing trench runs straight from Star Wars, and ice cube shields(!). If this game came out, it’d be like having the battles of Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica (especially its awesome-looking Season 4), Star Trek, and for good measure, Star Wars all on your computer, where YOU call the shots and every last explosion. Unfortunately, it seems that the game was canned, given the disappearance of Mithis’s website. For those of you who want to this game to come out, and I know you’re out there, you should write to HD Interactive at …

Hmmph, “no market”? A market doesn’t exist if it can’t be reached! There wasn’t enough of an advertising campaign the first time around.
Please show more people this video and sign the petition in order to show more people in the right places that there IS a market for this game.

the original was a masterpiece and this looked like it could top it. Become the ultimate, final and definitive tactical space sim forever. Then they closed the studio because there was no market
On the other hand, there were some rumors lately, even from former team members… PLEASE!

Yeah, I hope so… I’d rather have Nexus 2 tbh. I’ve been playing X3TC and though it’s a good game, the combat is just boring. Not like Nexus at all.

They have stated along the lines that Homeworld 3 was in planning.

Man, it’s really a bummer that the whole Space genre has died. No sequels for Nexus, Haegmonia, Freelancer, Freespace 2, or Homeworld 2.
Maybe if Homeworld 3 is announced the space genre will make a comeback.

That’s not known either, which is why I suggested signing the petition in the video description.

I totally agree with you. The hard work (and good ideas for games) of these people are often poorly recognized or ignored, which usually results in games unjustly underrated. See for exemple, Ghost Master_ this is a really good game, but it is virtually unknown by the general public_ what, indeed, is a shame because this game really deserves a sequel!

Heh, you gotta love how the ships in the original game were designed with Newtonian physics in mind. All of them (with the exception of those races using reactionless drives) have thrusters in all the right places, even the Angelwing.

The game industry is a VERY harsh mistress. It’s not like writing a fiction book where your own inspiration, a good editor and the right agent can make you a star. Hard work is seldom rewarded, people rarely give that work a fair shake, and so many things can go badly wrong. That’s why I posted this vid, to show more people what should not have been wasted.

Both were released in 2004. Even so, the “shakey cam” camera style has been around for a while, most famously used in the 90s for the “Blair Witch Project.”
You might be excited to know that a mod for the original game using the ships of Battlestar Galactica is coming together now.
