The playstation Motion Controller is a motion-sensing game controller in development for the playstation 3 video game console by Sony Computer Entertainment. Consisting of a handheld wand, the controller uses the playstation Eye webcam to track the wand’s position, and inertial sensors to detect its motion. It was revealed at Sony’s E3 2009 press conference on June 2, 2009, with a live demonstration using an engineering prototype. ] The playstation Motion Controller is slated for a Spring 2010 release.

This just turns the PS3 into an expensive wii. Natal is gonna own this if it succeeds. The natal video was fuckin awesome. Sony is just phoning this in. “uhh, i think this is cool because uh, it vibrates, and uh glows and stuff.”

@TrunkMonkay oh my god… how can you say that…? Natal was not even half as accurate as the wand’s motion trackers. There is voice and facial recognition as well in the wand. Natal’s gameplay is childish because if you think about it, how do you do special moves? Or what about aiming? I want something to hold in my hand, not jumping around the room with an “invisible” gun. You cannot call me biased because I have watched all the videos on this possible, and I have all 3 consoles.

TBH tight , this is like the wii technology tha nthe natal , the wii pointer works by the IR camera in t he wiimote sensing where the IR lights are in the sensort bar on the TV , this wand is the same principle but in reverse , the user is holding the “light source ” to be tracked by the camera on the TV , but it isnt using IR like the wii is , same principle , get over it !
