PC gaming offers the most user freedom. The freedom to edit and modify your software, the ability to exchange and upgrade hardware… Consoles overall have a limited lifespan. PC games live forever. Just look at X-COM. People are still playing it to this day. Imagine that with a console. Wouldn’t happen.

OMG dude, do some research before saying anything…. you dont have to upgrade to an i7 just cuz they’re out and you dont have to spend 800 bucks on a video card… i’m running a 3.16ghz core 2 duo and an 8800gt and I play everything maxed out… crysis even said it was designed for the future systems as well (hence dx10 maxed out)….
modding community, ability to customize, better control options, game options, and not being nickle and dimed like the console’s are… do better research bro

Pc is freedom to do whatever while the console is just limited at what it can do. Consoles are just a way to rip people off, look at the 360 for an example you have to pay for the internet when you are already paying for it!

Also I should add that a $200 ATI Radeon HD4890 can run almost every game out there maxed out in 1080P.

Buzzap14, you beat me to it. PC gaming is moving toward digital distribution and if this helps alleviate piracy, then PC gaming might come back stronger. If anything, PC gaming is getting cheaper(a $100 video card can run pretty much anything with pretty high details). Ten years ago, a $100 video card would have bought u crap. Also, as you said before Buzzap14, by the time the next gen consoles come out, PC hardware will be utterly insane. Just remember Moore’s Law.

Exactly man thats what I mean. Some people have this idea that if you want a good gaming rig you have to spend thousands of dollars and thats not true. Newegg has some great deals.

Well, you can’t say that PC gaming is dying based on that observation. It’s common knowledge that PC games are migrating to digital distribution.

By the time the next generation console role around, the PC will have already advanced by leaps and bounds- Since, PC’s advance at a much more rapid rate.
I like ya’ man, but you’re going to have to do some research if you want people to take you seriously.

Well I bought a 74 dollar card with a 10 dollar rebate that can do all that, i have a great processor too it beats a ps3 or xbox360 by a long shot.

I am from a place where these things cost a lot i still did not pay any thing close to 700 for my grafiks card.
I payed about 1000$ and that is with me not building it my self, vista (wanted 64bit for some reason), super quite quality fans, colour coding for the wiring, a HDMI out grafiks card, new 21inh monitor and extra warranty.
Now if i had cut away all the extra junk i wanted it would only have cost my half of what i gave.
But i did not fell like building it my self.

I built a pc that can run crysis 50 fps on medium for 800$. Not to mention in all my games i get free online, tons of mods, developer console and i can get skins and models. I have alot more freedom

700 dollar video cards? Shit no wonder you’re playing console haha. Where I’m from shit’s not that expensive. I just recently purchased a new video card to replace an older one I had in my rig. gts 250 for 150 bucks with a rebate. shit runs real nice. Runs dragon age origins on full graphics, 1920×1080 LFD2 also as well as any other game I have.

Ever heard of the PC gamer power push. If PC gaming dies it will take three times longer for new tech in CPU and GPU technology to make it’s way to console systems. PC RND payed for the development faster CPU’s and better GPU’s making console affordable if PC dies then the console will be become the PC and take a price tag to match and pay for any new RND in video and processor development. Consoles will hit prices in the 800 and 900 really quick and in concept be PC’s in functionality.

crysis is the only game mentioned and its all about the eye candy. guess the point is you don’t have to spend so much money for eye candy when you have an endless supply of games coming in because of consoles. and its not supposed to be about the graphics when it should be about the games.
