Russian physicists Ray Latypov and Nurella Latypov have been developing their prototype ‘human hamster-ball’ since the mid 1990′s. It essentially serves as a multi-directional treadmill that a computer can track and move your onscreen character accordingly. Coupled with a head-mounted monitor and a radar system derived from Doppler Radar to track where the player is looking and therefore aiming in a virtual world.

Is this the future of gaming? It’s a long way off, but I hope so.
